The Wandering Wick | A Candle Bar That Comes To You

We pack up the wax, the scents, the tools, and the tables, and set up a hands-on candle making experience wherever your group is gathering. Your guests pour their own soy candle, blend a scent that's theirs alone, and take it home at the end of the night.

How It Works

The Wandering Wick is Isle & Wild's mobile candle bar. We handle setup, guide your guests through each step, and clean up afterward, so you can spend the event with your people instead of managing it.

Every candle is poured with 100% soy wax, and every event supports animals in need. 10% of candle bar proceeds go to local animal welfare causes. 

Candles cool and set while your guests mingle and celebrate, and everyone leaves with a custom keepsake from the night

Choose Your Experience

  • Guided Candle Class | ticketed or private event for groups of 6–15

    A 1.5-2hr guided class where each guest chooses from our library of fragrances and blends up to three into a signature scent. We walk everyone through the pour from start to finish, and there's plenty of time to talk, snack, and enjoy each other's company while the candles set.

    We work with event hosts to build a scent library unique to your event. 

    Includes one candle per guest. Additional candles are available at a discounted rate.

  • Candle Station | for public events & venue partners

    For larger events, we set up a candle making station that runs alongside everything else happening in the room. Guests stop by when they're ready, make their candle with help from our team, and head back to the party.

    This option is geared towards public facing events where the venue and Isle & Wild co-promote. We build out a scent library that matches the event. 

    Revenue share possible with venue and Isle & Wild. Customers purchase as many candles as they would like to make. 

  • Private Candle Bar | for weddings, corporate events, and private parties

    For events where you'd like candle making to be part of the guest experience, you can book The Wandering Wick for your group. We set up a full candle bar at your venue, and your guests make their candles at no cost to them. It's a hands-on activity and a take-home favor in one.

    We'll work with you on a custom scent menu, and we can match it to your wedding colors, your company's brand, or the season. 

    Optional: custom labels with your names, date, or logo are available for an additional fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time do you need for setup and cleanup?

For events in your space, we arrive 45 minutes before start time to set up. After the event, we pack up and clean within 30 minutes. 

How far ahead should I book?

Guided Candle Classes need at least two week's notice, ideally 3-4 in peak holiday times. 

For Private Candle Bar events, especially weddings, we recommend booking 3-4 months ahead. Weekend dates fill first. We will do everything we can to accommodate your event. 

Can guests take their candles home the same day?

Yes. Candles need about 45-60 minutes to set after pouring. Once they're ready, we trim the wicks and package them for the trip home. For the best burn, let your candle cure for one week before lighting it.

What's required to book?

For Guided Candle Classes, we take a deposit based on our 6 guest minimum and confirm your final headcount one week before the event, when the remaining balance is invoiced. If the event is a ticketed partnership event at a local venue, deposit is not required but the event must be ticketed and not allow for walk-ins. 

For Private Candle Bar events, we take a 50% deposit, with the balance due one week before the event. Candle Station terms are arranged directly with each venue or event organizer.

Can kids participate?

At this time, the candle bar experience is only for ages 18+. If you have a teenager birthday party or similar event, please inquire and we can take these on a case-by-case basis with an adult present. We can do private events where kids are present, so long as a parent/guardian participates with them. 

Is gratuity expected?

Never expected, always appreciated. A Google review helps a small business just as much, and sharing what you made on social media! 

Where does the giving go?

10% of Wandering Wick proceeds support local animal welfare causes. At different times throughout the year we are supporting different nonprofits, and we also support direct requests for veterinary help for families in need. 

If you would like to designate to a specific nonprofit in the animal welfare space, we are happy to do that!
